Back to the asylum for me. This was my 13th visit to West Park Asylum. Its been done many times by many people and was a bit of a tourist destination the year before last – easy access, no security and close to London, so many people did their first UE trip here. Its where I met Viveca too. I don’t have too much of an emotional attachment to this one, it’s still pretty cool though.
I’ve tried many times to get a decent shot of one of the hydro baths, often the rooms were too small and cramped to fit everything in. Luckily on this trip Viveca pointed out this beauty. The light in the room was great with the rays shining in through the window. The light rays are not PS’d in here.

This is really nice Mark, well done, I also had a look at your food images, very impressive, nice work
How can you not have too much of an emotional attachment to West Park? It’s where you met ME!!!
Great shot, the light rays are lovely 🙂
Nice capture and processing Mark! To me the sun rays makes the picture. The decay is amazing.
I’m lovin’ the light coming through the window. Very nice processing on this (or should I say, ‘as usual.’)
Perfect processing and the light entering the window plays so well with the angle of the bath!
Dude, that light TOTALLY makes this picture! Man, that is awesome! Well played!
How sweet, where Mark B and Viveca met. Love among the decrepitude.
Hey Mark G, that sounds like a movie title – perhaps Mark and I should film it with his Canon 550D at West Park for old time’s sake? 😉
