Another weekend and another maternity shoot. It was great to have another shoot this weekend. Buoyed by my previous maternity shoot I was excited to have a visit from Emma and her friend Nadia.
The shoot was great with three or four outfit changes, along with changing the backdrop for a slightly different look.
Emma was a great subject needing little coaching to pose at all which made my job easy, shes super pretty and glowing as only an expectant mother can do, even stopping briefly as she felt her baby moving.
We didnt take too long to rattle through things, I’m getting more confident with shooting now and maternity shoots are somewhat easier due to the restrictive nature of posing, there’s a lot that i would ask a regular model to do that I cant ask someone who is pregnant to do.
Something that I have noticed with my maternity shooting as well as with models is that I’m slowly defining my style, I tend not to shoot regular portraits, as such, my images all seem to have a slightly dark look to them, I guess this may not be to the taste of everybody taste, however I think it’s important to stick to what I like and am good at rather than trying to achieve a look that’s not really my thing.
