Yesterday Viveca and I went to the Horniman Museum. The Horniman is a collection of artefacts from around the world that were collected by the family may years ago when they were tea traders. There is a really wide variety of objects here, from a huge collection of musical instruments to skulls and stuffed animals. Its quite small, but very interesting, not least because the collections aren’t too modernised, kept in what look like original cabinets.
Obviously we were attracted by the macabre side of things. There are some cool skeletons and pickled animals here, all in cases so not the easiest to photograph because of the reflections. None the less I came out with some keepers.
Here’s one of the skulls, somewhat heavily processed, below is the initial HDR
Below – the middle of the three brackets.
That’s come out really well, all three versions have something, but the top one is by far the creepiest!
Wow, nicely processed Mark.
Great, unique shot!
This is beyond amazing Mark. Great drama here, and the result is captivating and spooky at the same time!
