Nice little explore this one. We arrived at the cemetery after it had closed. This afforded us easy access after a bit of a climb. No tourists around to disturb entry to the crypt and no-one peering in to see ‘what’s in there’?
My partner in crime had been here before so we knew where to go and how to enter which was a bonus. The crypt is massive, made up of three long corridors with intersecting corridors. By no means a maze, but big enough not to be able to see the other end well. There must be hundreds of people laid to rest here – numbers above the tombs noted over 2500. dusty plastic wreaths are dotted around attached to certain memorials giving a more eerie feeling to the place. Its actually pretty stark. Not coming from the same country it lacks a little excitement of knowing who is behind the stones, none the less it was a good way to spend a couple of hours on a sunny afternoon.

Looks like a pretty intriguing place. Love your composition and the diverging corridors.
Reminds me of the links in WP. great capture and processing Mark
Ooh. This one is a gem. Love the splash of blue on the wall. Well, that and everything else about it.
Nice shot Mark, looks like a suitably creepy place to spend a long evening. I really need to head out of the UK on one of these trips!
You definitely have the creep factor covered here, Mark. The slight blue tinge, here and there, add to the eerie feeling. There is so much mystery and you won’t tell us which path to follow! Wonderful image.
Good God. My blood ran cold here; what an AWESOME image Mark! Wow, my friend, you’ve really really captured a slice here on this one. Amazing details, SO much to take in. Good God.
Really like the how the lights lead down each hall. Very cool!
A fascinating place, it’s very grim looking. Excellent shot, you nailed this one perfectly. 🙂
It’s not particularly grim to be honest – good light from above and fairly clean inside. There were ladders and the like in some of the corridors indicating that they are doing a bit of a clean up job.
I love the cross on the wall, really makes the shot.
Great image… a bit creepy, but it’s definitely a place I would explore to. If nothing else, it really makes you appreciate being alive!
Eerie?? That’s an understatement. A little bit darker and I could have been from the old game/movie Doom… Great shot.
Now that’s my kind of location! I like the hint of blue in the centre of an almost monochrome photo.
Very cool. Great shot, Mark! Very creepy indeed.
